Times NIE event concludes, reaffirms commitment to energy conservation

Hyderabad: The annual Saksham Kshamatha Mahotsav (SAKSHAM 2025), a campaign aimed at raising awareness about fuel conservation, successfully concluded at the NT Rama Rao auditorium, Telugu University in Nampally. Organized by the state-level coordinator for the oil industry in Telangana, YP Singh, under the aegis of the Union ministry of petroleum and natural gas, the fortnight-long initiative witnessed participation from industry members, policymakers, students, and the general public.
The closing ceremony was attended by many dignitaries, including Telangana civil supplies director VSNV Prasad, who emphasized the importance of sustainable energy consumption and the collective responsibility of conserving resources. In his keynote address, he highlighted the significance of SAKSHAM 2025 in promoting fuel efficiency, encouraging responsible energy use, and integrating sustainable practices across industries.
Throughout the campaign, various activities such as awareness drives, workshops, school competitions, walkathons, cyclothons, LPG Panchayats, marathons, and technical seminars were conducted across the state and country to educate citizens on fuel conservation and environmental sustainability. The initiative successfully engaged thousands of participants through digital platforms, radio, television, and print media.
During the valedictory function, winners of the wall painting and article writing competitions were felicitated for their contributions to spreading awareness about energy conservation. Industry stakeholders and heads of oil marketing companies in Telangana attended the function.
In their individual addresses, they urged the public to rededicate themselves to the core objective of SAKSHAM — “Save Fuel to Save Our Future”. They also emphasized the need to adopt alternative energy sources wherever feasible to achieve a sustainable, cleaner, and greener environment, paving the way for a brighter future with reduced carbon footprints.
In his closing remarks, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) executive director and state head, Anil Kumar, lauded the efforts of all participants and stakeholders, urging for continued efforts beyond the campaign. “Energy conservation is not just a necessity but a responsibility for a sustainable future. Initiatives like SAKSHAM 2025 play a crucial role in instilling this consciousness among citizens,” he stated.
The event concluded with a pledge to adopt fuel-saving practices in daily life and promote sustainability for a greener tomorrow.
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) zonal head Benny C Thomas, GM (Retail) state head Nithin Selukar and GAIL zonal general manager Dev Kanth Sinha also spoke on this occasion.
