It has been nine months since the Telugu Desam formed the government in Andhra Pradesh, along with Janasena and BJP. This period has been a rather shaky one for the hard-core Telugu Desam cadres due to understandable operational issues.
But there is this one thing that the younger crop of Telugu Desam leaders are doing which is agitating the cadres further and here’s a look into the this story.
Recently, it was the case of TDP Narsaraopeta MP Lavu Krishna Devarayulu who did something unconventional at the nation’s capital of Delhi. He took the Akkineni family, including Nagarjuna and others to meet prime minister Modi and this was regarding the ANR book launch event that was commemorated by Modi.
While there’s nothing wrong in this personal consultation by the TDP MP at a personal capacity, there was certain backlash for the same on public domain from the hardcore TDP cadres. Their opinion is that Nagarjuna is fundamentally aligned with the YS family as he was good friends with YSR and then with Jagan. So now, after this hard fought victory for TDP against Jagan’s tyranny, the fact that their own MP readily facilitated Nag in Delhi wasn’t comprehensible for TDP loyalists.
Then there’s this another case of another TDP youngster, Rammohan Naidu who took singer Mangli on special darshan to the famous Arasavalli Temple on the busy occasion of Mahasivaratri.
This incident in particular drew a lot of ire as cadres couldn’t digest their own MP accommodating and streamlining a temple visit to Mangli who comes across as a hardcore TDP hater. In fact there is even a notion that she blatantly refused to sing a campaign song for TDP while she happily sang many songs for Jagan. Facilitating such TDP hater on auspicious Mahasivaratri was a miscalculation by the young Naidu, felt many tdp loyalists.
Then there’s this minor incident that happened recently when Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Sudheer Reddy facilitated the Manchu family at the famous Srikalahasti temple. He was right by the family all the while and made sure they got prime Darshan.
This agitated a section of TDP supporters considering the earlier verbal remarks Mohan Babu had against Chandrababu. But this recent incident is perhaps understandable considering that the Manchu family quickly made up with TDP and even appreciated Chandrababu recently. So this incident didn’t catch too much ire.
However, the earlier two incidents have impacted the already disgruntled TDP cadres and have sparked fury on the TDP youngsters. This perhaps came from inexperience but such incidents must be made note of and studied in the future. Acting along the interests of cadres far supersedes any personal leniency and private interests every single day in politics.
