Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy will unveil the Indira Mahila Shakti policy on March 8 at Parade Ground in Secunderabad on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Stating this, women and child welfare minister Seethakka on Saturday said that a huge public meeting with one lakh women will be organised on March 8. Apart from Revanth, deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka and top leaders will attend the meeting.
“New schemes will be launched on women’s day. The state govt will also sign an agreement with oil marketing companies on that day to ensure that petrol bunks will be allotted to women in 31 districts, like the one in Narayanpet district which is totally managed by women,” Seethakka said after holding a review meeting on arrangements to be made for the public meeting.
The CM will virtually inaugurate 64 megawatt solar power plants in 32 districts for the members of women self-help groups. Revanth will also distribute cheques towards interest-free loans to the SHG women members.
Seethakka said that CM Revanth will hand over insurance cheques worth Rs 40 crore to 400 women who died in accidents in the last one year. The CM is likely to make a key announcement to strengthen women’s groups in cities. The issue of bringing Society for Elimination of Poverty and Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas under one umbrella is being considered.
