List of Samsung’s AI features on Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56

Earlier today, Samsung announced three new mid-range phones: Galaxy A26, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy A56. The Galaxy A36 and the Galaxy A56 bring some AI features seen on higher-end phones from last year. Here is the list of all such features.

The Galaxy A36 has an improved AI Select, Custom Filters, Edit Suggestions, Object Eraser, and Read Aloud. The Galaxy A56, thanks to its more powerful chip, has Best Face in addition to all the AI features on the Galaxy A36.

  1. You have select suggests actions based on what is on the phone’s screen. For example, it can suggest calling a number, capturing a GIF of a video you are watching, emailing to an address, navigating to a location, or visiting a webpage based on information it finds on the screen. It is similar to Google’s Circle to Search but can be accessed from the Side Panel.
  2. Best Face: The phone captures a few seconds of video before you hit the shutter button. If someone captured in the image isn’t smiling or has their eyes closed, you can replace their expression with a better one from the frames the phone captured earlier.
  3. Custom Filters: A feature inside the stock Camera app that lets you create a filter (a combination of color temperature, contrast, film grain, and saturation) based on the image you choose from your phone’s image gallery. Then, you can adjust those aspects to capture an image that matches your mood and color preferences.
  4. Edit Suggestions: The phone suggests smart ways to improve your photos, such as an angle or level, in the stock Camera app.
  5. Object Eraser: It lets you easily erase or remove unwanted objects or people from your photos. It can be found in the phone’s built-in image editor.
  6. Read Aloud: It lets you listen to articles or webpages when you are using the Samsung Internet web browser.

Compared to high-end phones from the Galaxy S and the Galaxy Z series, the new Galaxy A phones have fewer AI features because the NPUs inside their chips aren’t as powerful as the ones inside Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series phones.

We hope Samsung will eventually bring more AI features to the Galaxy A36 and the Galaxy A56.
