Mahindra became India’s second-largest carmaker in terms of sales in February 2025 for the first time. The homegrown brand overtook Hyundai, registering a growth of 19% YoY. Mahindra sold 50,420 units in February 2025, compared to 42,401 units in the same month last year, whereas Hyundai sold 47,727 units last month. These figures only reflect domestic sales, though. Hyundai’s cumulative sales, including exports, stood at 58,727 units. The carmaker’s exports rose 6.8% to 11,000 units. On the other hand, Mahindra’s exports were 1,966 units, taking the cumulative sales to 52,386 units. Commenting about the impressive sales performance, Veejay Nakra, President (Automotive Division) at Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “This strong performance is a result of a continued positive momentum for our SUVs.” Source:NDTV
