Two killed, two injured in multi-vehicle collision on Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway

Two persons were killed, and two others were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision involving two cars and three heavy vehicles on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway (NH-65) in the early hours of Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Syed Nawaz, 25 and Mohammed Zubair, 28, both residents of Nalgonda and working as welders. Mohammed Salman, 19, an intermediate student and Syed Shoaib, 28, a welder sustained grievous injuries and are currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.

The incident was reported around 1.30 a.m. on Sunday when the four were travelling back from Hyderabad to Nalgonda. Near the Pedda Kaparthy village, a speeding lorry rammed into a car triggering a chain reaction. A case was booked, and efforts are underway to trace the lorry driver who escaped from the spot leaving his vehicle behind. All the vehicles involved in the accident were removed and traffic was cleared.
