Tata Harrier Petrol – When It’s Launching In India?

Tata Motors is all set to launch the Harrier EV in March 2025. Interestingly, this popular Tata SUV will also receive a new petrol engine in the country. While the official launch timeline of the Tata Harrier petrol is yet to be revealed, reports suggest that it will arrive in 2026.

Tata Harrier Petrol: Specs

Under the hood, the SUV will feature the brand’s new 1.5L turbocharged, direct injection (TGDi) petrol engine, delivering power worth 170PS at 5,000rpm and 280Nm of torque between 2,000rpm – 3,500rpm. This gasoline motor is capable of running on petrol as well as an E20 ethanol petrol mix fuel. It also complies with BS6 Phase II emission standards.

Tata Motors has revealed that its new 1.5L TGDi petrol engine has been benefited with the high-pressure direct injection technology and an advanced combustion system. The Tata Harrier petrol will be offered with manual and automatic gearbox options.

Tata Harrier Diesel – Specs and Prices

At present, the Harrier SUV line is available only with a 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine, producing a maximum power of 170PS at 3,750rpm and 350Nm between 1,750rpm – 2,500rpm. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.

Despite the heavy kerb weight, the Harrier diesel accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 11.5-12 seconds (MT) and 12-12.5 seconds (AT). The SUV offers a top speed of around 180-190kmph. Its claimed ARAI mileage figures stand at 16-17kmpl (MT) and 14.15kmpl (AT). The Tata Harrier comes with three drive modes (Eco, City and Sport) along with the terrain response system offering three modes – Normal, Wet and Rough Road.

Expected Prices:

All diesel variants of the Harrier SUV are available within the price range of Rs 15 lakh – Rs 26.50 lakh (all, ex-showroom). Prices of the Tata Harrier petrol are expected to start between Rs 12.50 lakh – Rs 13 lakh for the base variant, and go all the way up to Rs 15.50 lakh for the top trim.
