Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) chairman Konakalla Narayana Rao assured to take the issues of ousted employees to the notice of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and ensure justice to them.
Around 175 RTC employees were removed from their jobs for being medically unfit between 2015 and 2019. These employees met Narayana Rao at his chamber in RTC House seeking help in resolving the issue on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the employees lamented that a few of them lost their jobs due to chronic illnesses that they suffered while discharging their duties, while a few others became physically disabled due to road accidents. “Out of the 300 employees who lost their jobs, 125 of them died,” they said and urged the chairman to come to their aid and provide them jobs.
On the occasion, Narayana Rao assured the employees that he would take the issue to govt’s notice and discuss the issue with deputy chief minister K Pawan Kalyan and minister Nara Lokesh. He further assured to discuss the issue with the chief minister, who recently agreed to take up recruitments in RTC on compassionate grounds.
