Vijayawada: Calling the state budget a “well-planned and development-oriented budget that ensures financial stability while prioritizing welfare schemes”, deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan said it reflects the coalition govt’s commitment to fulfilling election promises and promoting sustainable growth.
Pawan said under chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu‘s leadership, the govt is implementing fiscal discipline to reduce the state’s revenue and fiscal deficits. With a capital expenditure of 40,636 crore, the budget is designed to boost infrastructure and enhance state revenue in the long run, he added.
Significant allocations include 9,407 crore for ‘Thalliki Vandanam’ scheme, set to launch in May, and provisions for ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ scheme, which will provide 20,000 annually to farmers. The irrigation sector received 18,019 crore, while 18,890 crore was allocated for rural development, ensuring village-level progress. Jal Jeevan Mission, which was previously neglected, has now been given priority, benefiting from central govt support.
Pawan expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for constant support, while congratulating finance minister Payyavula Keshav and agriculture minister Achchennaidu for framing a “farmer-friendly and development-focused budget”.
