Vijayawada: Responding to opposition from Telangana on the proposed Banakacharla project, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said there shouldn’t be any issue in utilising the water that’s going into the sea. He said the Banakacharla link project is proposed to utilise the water that would otherwise flow into the sea.
Naidu said he never opposed the Kaleswaram project on Godavari. “Unfortunately, one party in Telangana is doing politics over Banakacharla, and others are following them out of fear of falling behind,” he said, taking a dig at both BRS and Congress without naming anyone.
“I have always maintained that both states are like two eyes for me. I asked for equal justice for both states. I want Telugu people from both states to prosper, as NTR founded the party for all Telugu people. Telangana can construct projects on Godavari and utilise its water as they wish, and at the same time, there should not be any problem for anyone if AP utilises the water from Godavari which is going into the sea,” the CM added.
