The helmet is heavy and there are no two ways about it. But the weight is quite balanced and once worn, it doesn’t cause any discomfort.

Got this SMK Typhoon, three days ago.
While I did not have too stingy of a budget, I capped at 10k. This put LS2 out of commission. MT’s rear designs didn’t really resonate with me and Axxis went out of the list since most of the available ones were rated ECE 22.05 and not 22.06.
Korda Shockwave was in my radar quite strongly among my other considerations, the Axor Apex series, the SMK Bionic, Stellar and the Typhoon. I would’ve loved myself and SMK Titan but the carbon fiber model was a tad bit out of range.
I spent well over an hour in the riding gear shop I usually go to near the Reliance bazaar, Hosur. There were only Axor and SMK available at that time so I decided to check those out and see where things went.
The Bionic was quite a solid helmet but the size and fit wasn’t quite right. While the stellar was perfect on the build quality, the safety on offer and even fit snug, I felt the fit and feel of the Typhoon was better. After trying on the Stellar and the Typhoon back to back multiple times, I settled with the Typhoon for 4.8k, a bit down from the 5.3k MRP
The helmet is heavy and there are no two ways about it. But the weight is quite balanced and once worn, it doesn’t cause any discomfort. Wind insulation is quite good as well. Hopefully the longevity is good with this one. We’ll see where it goes!
