Hyderabad: The HMWS&SB imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on a man who was using drinking water supplied by the board to wash his bike.
Ashok Reddy, Managing Director of HMWS&SB on Wednesday was passing through the Jubilee Hills Road No 78 when he noticed drinking water flowing on the road. He alerted the local HMWS&SB General Manager, Hari Shankar who along with the local officials went to inspect the place and check leakages in pipelines.
To the dismay of the board officials, they noticed a man was washing his high end bike with the drinking water supplied by the board. The HMWS&SB imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on him and served him a notice.
The managing director asked the citizens not to use the drinking water for any other purpose. The board asked the people to inform them if they come across such instances of water wastage.
