Hyderabad: Telangana is likely to witness a brief chilly weather on Thursday and Friday as cold winds from North India are expected to bring down the temperature significantly.
Northern districts like Adilabad, Komaram Bheem, Asifabad, Nirmal, Mancherial and Peddapalli will witness a sharp drop in mercury levels with minimum temperatures in the range of 10 to 12°Celsius.
Hyderabad and southern parts of Telangana will also get some relief from the ongoing heatwave, with morning temperatures likely to fall between 13 and 15°Celsius during this period. Daytime temperatures in most parts of the state are expected to hover around 35°Celsius and 36°Celsius, providing a much-needed respite from the sweltering heat, an IMD official said.
Weather experts say the cold spell is a result of cold winds from north India making their way to Telangana. However, the relief will be short-lived as the heat is expected to return from March 9, with temperatures likely to rise again.
