2 held for for smuggling ganja from Odisha to Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Govt Railway Police (GRP) at Secunderabad along with RPF personnel on Wednesday arrested two persons smuggling dry ganja from Odisha to Hyderabad at Secunderabad railway station. The officials seized 10.6 kg of dry ganja worth Rs 5.3 lakh from the duo.
Kiran, the Odisha-based supplier, is absconding.
According to the police, the accused, Ananta Rait and Suresh Badaraita, are relatives and worked as agricultural labourers at the same place. After work, they used to play volleyball at Suresh’s house. During one of these games, Kiran offered them a job transporting ganja to Hyderabad for a commission of Rs 5,000 each.
Following the offer, the duo packed the ganja in their travelling bags and boarded the Konark Express at Berhampur railway station. They were to deliver it to the receiver in Hyderabad, whose details they would be given only on arrival.
On their arrival in Secunderabad on Wednesday, while waiting for Kiran’s instructions, the police caught them on suspicion. They found ganja in their bags and arrested them, said a GRP official.
