I think the Alcantara seats are the best choice for the Indian roads given that Skoda provides fabric seats in its default version on RS in the western countries.
Bhpian ihtrak recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
Things I liked:
1. Ofcourse the steering wheel (3 spoke; Quality and feel is top notch)
2. Sitting in the drivers seat, the feel of the brake and accelerator was so premium
3. Alcantara seats with extendable thigh support (I’m a tall guy and the extendable thigh support does wonders. Although not as extendable as the Beamers, it did have a fair amount of extendable range. I’m also a fan of Alcantara; just holds you in the seat). I also think the Alcantara seats are the best choice for the Indian roads given that Skoda provides fabric seats in its default version on RS in the western countries. Hope Skoda launches this with Alcantara seats rather than fabric ones in India.
4. The front, although a minor facelift, the headlights look amazing in person than the pics. It showcased as a mighty playboy. Gives you a feeling of “keep riding on me forever!” when you look at it.
The rep at Skoda stall unofficially claimed it would launch in 2nd half of the year and expect a price range of 45lac+ (ex-showroom). And of-course its gonna be CBU. So that puts in the in 55-60 lacs on-road.
Whether it’s worth it to buy:
Yes if you are blinded with only the VRS. If Skoda decides to take a hit on the profits of this car and launches this at ~45lac on-road, I’m sure this would sell-off as hotcakes. This would also give Skoda a good evaluation strategy in terms of “What is the actual demand when the VRS is launched at the right price”.
Finally, attaching a few pics from my gallery.
