I did a marathon drive in the Maruti Suzuki Jimny to Prayagraj, UP and have a new found respect for it. This is my personal best – 1416 kms in a day.

68 hours – 2800 kms
Star of the show
Started at around 4:30 AM and reached parking the next day at around 2:30 AM.
Started for return on Sunday early morning from Rewa and was back by midnight.
We took an approx 1 hour break at Rewa, MP for dinner and getting prepared for the last leg where we had a night stay booked. However, we didn’t visited room and just relaxed in reception area itself.
We started again at 11 PM and reached parking as mentioned above. I have mentioned about the trip in the respective thread –

Few points on Jimny
- Jimny is getting smoother with more and more miles being munched.
- This long trip experience was much better in terms of engine response and smoothness as compared to my Diwali home run.
- It gave an average of 12.9kmpl as in MID. So, real world turns to be around 12.5
- Sleeping in Jimny was quite comfortable.
- The go anywhere confidence which this vehicle gives you is tremendous.
- I have lost the count from this trip itself when strangers – irrespective of age, gender comes up to have conversation/gives thumbs up/turn their heads to watch it pass.
- Two small kids(age under 10) were literally walking with car smiling and weren’t able to keep their eyes away from car while we were stuck in traffic and inching ahead slowly. We finally gave them couple of snickers after half a km to go on instead of following us in the scorching sun.
- Automatic and cruise control. I just loved the convenience in this trip. The reason why Jimny was chosen for this task instead of Linea.
- Jimny will complete 8k in 7 months of ownership.
8k isn’t far
