Vijayawada: Nara Bhuvaneswari, managing trustee of the NTR Memorial Trust, laid the foundation stone for the NTR Trust building in the Teachers’ Colony of Vijayawada. She said that the trust is being run from Hyderabad since its inception. It is now being established in Vijayawada to bring services closer to people, she said.
Attributing the success of the NTR Trust to committed team members and generous donors, Bhuvaneswari said that the service activities, which started 28 years ago, continue to expand, touching upon the lives of thousands of underprivileged sections of society. “By February 2026, we will complete the construction of the Trust building in Vijayawada and commence services. This Trust building will include an office, blood bank, and thalassemia centres,” she said.
Bhuvaneswari announced the future plans of the trust. She said that they are soon going to establish thalassemia centres in Hyderabad, Vizag, Tirupati, and Rajahmundry, which will operate 24/7. The NTR Trust is also operating skill development centres and helped 2,500 persons secure jobs. Women from Kuppam are being trained in tailoring, jute bag making, silk thread bangle making, and chicken curry embroidery.
The NTR Trust conducted 14,056 health camps benefiting 2 million people, with an expenditure of Rs 22.43 crore. Under the Trust’s management, a school and women’s degree college are operating at Gandipet, and the profits are being spent to operate a school for orphans in Challapalli. As many as 2,020 students are currently studying from 6th grade to intermediate at Challapalli. The NTR Trust also took up relief measures to help the victims during floods, cyclones, and other natural calamities.
