Wildfire breaks out in Undrugonda hills, firefighters fail to put out flames

Suryapet: A massive fire broke out in the Undrugonda hills, causing panic among residents of nearby villages. The flames, which erupted near the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, have been raging since 4 pm.

Firefighters from Suryapet reached the scene with their vehicle but were unable to control the blaze. They had to retreat as fire continued to spread.

Forest Range Officer Kiran Kumar said that the fire may have been caused by people grazing cattle carelessly discarding beedi or cigarette butts. He said the firefighters arrived at the hill location, but they were unable to reach the exact spot where the fire was raging.
