Hyundai Creta To Get A Tough Fight From These 3 All-New SUVs

The Hyundai Creta has been dominating the SUV segment, but the competition is about to get tougher with the arrival of three all-new models from Tata, Renault and Nissan. Which SUVs are ready to challenge it? Let’s find out.

Tata Sierra

Hyundai Creta To Get A Tough Fight From These 3 All-New SUVs

The all-new Sierra will be one of the strongest contenders in the midsize SUV segment, which is slated to hit roads in late 2025. This new Tata SUV will come with both ICE (internal combustion engine) and electric powertrain options. Official specifications are still under wraps. However, its petrol version might feature a 1.5L turbo motor and the diesel model could be powered by a 2.0L engine. Based on Tata’s Gen 2 architecture, the Tata Sierra EV is likely to come with two battery packs, promising a range of over 500km.

Tata’s new Hyundai Creta rival is expected to offer a well-equipped interior. The official feature list is yet to be revealed, but it’s expected to be packed with floating triple screens, a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo in the centre, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 360 degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, an auto dimming IRVM, ventilated seats and more.

New Renault Duster

New Renault Duster

The third-generation Renault Duster is reported to witness a market launch in early 2026. The India-spec version will underpin the CMF-B platform and look slightly different from the globally sold model. Compared to its predecessor, the all-new Duster will carry a more evolved design language and upmarket interior. The SUV might come with a 10.1-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 6-speaker Arkamys 3D sound system, wireless phone charging and ADAS suite.

As of now, there is no word on its powertrains. According to media reports, the new Renault Duster could be powered by a 1.3L HR14 turbo petrol engine that’s good for 156bhp. The lineup might also include two more engine options – the Kiger-sourced 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol.

Nissan’s Duster-Based SUV

New Nissan SUV

Nissan will foray into the highly competitive midsize SUV segment with a new Duster-based 5-seater SUV in 2026. Codenamed P1311-N, the new Nissan SUV will be positioned against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara. Similar to the Duster, it will be built on the CMF-B platform and have different design language than its donor model. Rumour has it that Nissan’s new Creta rival SUV could borrow design elements from the Magnite such as the signature front grille, headlamp and taillamp clusters, alloys, etc.

Initially, the new Nissan 5-seater SUV will be offered with the petrol engine only. The hybrid and electric versions might also be considered for India at a later stage. If introduced, the electric and hybrid powertrains will likely be available exclusively on the higher trims.
