The State government has decided to constitute an independent committee, comprising reputed persons, to study the comprehensive household survey to assess the social, economic, education, employment, political and caste status of the people.
The committee will be headed by Justice Sudarshan Reddy as chairman and Kancha Ilaiah will be its vice-chairman and Praveen Chakravarthi convenor. The committee will comprise social activist Shanta Sinha, retired professors Purushottam Reddy and Bhukya Bhangya and others as its members.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka who announced the constitution of the committee said there was a need to conduct a thorough examination of the data, obtained in the survey, by intellectuals and reputed social activists so that there was no scope for any lapses. The committee was expected to submit its report to the Planning department within one month after conducting a detailed study.
The Deputy Chief Minister convened a meeting with the panel members here on Friday. He said Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge provided their guidance in the conduct of the survey which was aimed at providing social justice to all sections. Given the crucial role the survey would play in the effective implementation of welfare schemes, the government had conducted an in-depth study of the exercise in consultation with all the stakeholders.
This was followed by constitution of an independent panel of reputed people to examine the survey data so that there was no scope for lapses.
