Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bagged four prestigious ‘National Bus Transport Excellence Awards‘ for the year 2023-24, presented by the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU), an apex organisation under the Union govt.
The govt-run transport organization won four awards in the categories of technology initiative, highest KMPL, highest non-ticketing revenue, and lowest accident incident rate.
APSRTC managing director (MD) Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, along with executive director (Zone-II) G Vijaya Rathnam and deputy chief engineer (IT) Y Srinivasa Rao, received the four awards from Kiran Bedi at the award ceremony held in New Delhi on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Tirumala Rao expressed happiness over APSRTC winning four prestigious awards and recalled that the transport corporation had won several awards in the past for its best customer services. He stated that the dedication, discipline, and commitment of RTC staff in providing the best services ensured that RTC won these awards.
On the occasion, Tirumala Rao appreciated the officials who worked hard to achieve these awards and stated that APSRTC is poised to scale newer heights and develop further under the able leadership of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
