R.V.R. and J.C. College of Engineering organised its 40th annual day on Saturday (March 8). Renowned lyricist and Oscar winner K. Chandrabose and Infosys delivery manager Suresh Narra were the chief guests.
Mr. Suresh Narra emphasised the importance of technical skills in driving innovations in today’s competitive world. Mr. Chandrabose underscored the significance of balancing education and artistic talent, saying that his Oscar-winning song was not just a personal achievement but a moment of pride for 1.4 billion Indians, bringing global recognition to the Telugu language.
A total of 317 students received scholarships worth ₹20,000 each, amounting to ₹63.40 lakh. Additionally, 19 outstanding students were honoured with cash awards. College president Rayapati Srinivas said scholarships worth ₹4.45 crore have been awarded to 2,711 students since 2006-07.
The celebrations featured cultural performances by students.
College secretary and correspondent Rayapati Gopala Krishna, treasurer Kondabolu Krishna Prasad, principal Kolla Srinivas and faculty members, students and parents were present.
