Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday said the state govt decided to provide comprehensive information to Telangana MPs from BJP and BRS too, who did not attend the all-party meeting held here on Saturday, on 28 various projects, funds, and other support, to be raised in the ensuing session of Parliament.
“For decades, we fought for a separate state and achieved it. It is high time that we all keep aside our political differences and unite to exert pressure on the central govt to do justice to the state by releasing funds, approving projects, and extending other required central support. When it comes to the development of Telangana, there will be no compromise,” Bhatti said after chairing an all-party meeting at Praja Bhavan.
The Congress MPs and the lone AIMIM lawmaker, Asaduddin Owaisi, senior officials, and Telangana govt’s special representative in Delhi, AP Jithender Reddy, among others, attended the meeting.
BJP and BRS did not attend, with the saffron party state president G Kishan Reddy citing a lack of time to prepare for the meeting and pre-scheduled appointments on the occasion of Women’s Day for his party MPs as the reason for not being able to make it to the meeting, in his letter to the deputy chief minister earlier during the day. The Rajya Sabha MPs from the BRS skipped the meeting, with Bhatti stating no reason was given.
Bhatti said a special facility would be set up in New Delhi to povide information to the MPs from the state.
“The state govt is willing to organise another all-party meeting and give ample time to BJP and BRS MPs to prepare for the meeting. If needed, I will personally meet and invite them a week in advance. I personally called everyone over the phone, including Union ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, and invited them to the all-party meet. But different reasons have been cited for not attending the meeting,” Bhatti said.
Asaduddin Owaisi said the govt provided comprehensive information through a PowerPoint presentation on issues pending with the Centre and AIMIM could raise the issues in Parliament.
