Industrial pollution sparks protest rallies

Hyderabad: Residents of Bachupally, Nizampet, and Pragati Nagar staged a massive protest rally on Sunday, decrying unchecked industrial pollution after months of ignored complaints to the Pollution Control Board (PCB). The demonstrators, representing local communities, demanded urgent action against toxic emissions from industries in nearby zones.
“Toxic gases from factories in IDA Bollaram, Kazipalli, Bonthapalli, and Jinnaram are suffocating us, especially at night and early morning,” said a protester. “We wake up struggling to breathe, with a burning sensation in our noses, yet PCB remains indifferent.”
Chanting slogans like ‘PCB jaago, pollution bhaago’ and ‘Clean air is our birthright,’ the protesters slammed the PCB for inaction. “We’ve filed multiple complaints, but nothing has changed. If the authorities won’t act, we will continue to raise our voices until these industries are held accountable,” warned a resident.
Demanding immediate intervention into the issue, the protesters vowed to intensify their demonstrations until stringent measures are enforced to curb industrial emissions and safeguard public health.
