Vijayawada:A financial dispute took a dramatic turn when a man allegedly kidnapped his associate’s wife in Guntur. The incident came to light after a complaint was lodged at the Arundalpet police station, leading to the rescue of the victim from captivity.
According to the Arundalpet police, Balasekhara Babu, a resident of Vijayawada, works as a daily wage laborer. He owed Rs 4 lakh to Narasa Reddy from Koritapadu, who is a head mason. Recently, Babu’s wife, Vasavi, traveled to Guntur’s Sarada Colony following the death of her brother. Learning about her visit, Narasa Reddy confronted her, insisting that her husband must clear the pending dues. He then took Vasavi to his mother’s house under the pretext of discussing the matter and held her captive.
When Vasavi did not return home, Balasekhara Babu grew suspicious and approached the police. Upon investigation, police traced Vasavi to a house in Muthyalareddy Nagar, where she was unlawfully confined. She was rescued, and a case was registered against Narasa Reddy at the Arundalpet police station.
Police are further investigating the matter, including the financial transactions between the two men.
