Minor girl runs away from home; traced in Vijayawada railway station

A 11-year-old girl, who reportedly ran away from her parents after being scolded at home, was found by the Government Railway Police in Vijayawada railway station.

On March 6 (Thursday), the minor girl reportedly boarded a train from Bhimavaram railway station to run away from her parents. The next day, the parents lodged a complaint with the Bhimavaram Two Town Police after their search proved futile.

“We traced the movements of the minor girl near Bhimavaram railway station and alerted all railway stations across the State. The railway police traced the girl in Vijayawada railway station on Friday (March 7),” said West Godavari Superintendent of Police (SP) Adnan Nayeem Asmi. The girl was handed over to her parents on Friday.

“The girl had complained that she decided to run away from her parents as they were repeatedly scolding her at home,” said the SP in an official release. The police also counselled the girl’s parents.
