NCP (SP) state women’s wing president Rohini Khadse has ignited a storm of reactions with her controversial appeal to President Droupadi Murmu, seeking permission for women to “commit one murder” in response to rising crimes against women.
Rohini Khadse, daughter of veteran politician Eknath Khadse, made the statement while highlighting the government’s failure to implement stricter laws like the Shakti Act.

She argued that women are left with no choice but to take matters into their own hands, citing historical figures like Maharani Tararani and Ahilyadevi Holkar, who fought to protect their people.
Her remarks have drawn extreme reactions on social media. While some supported her call for justice, others slammed her for promoting violence.

Another mocked feminism, commenting, “They already have permission to cheat in marriages. Feminism at its peak lol.”

A sarcastic take read, “Oh brilliant idea! Next, you can ask for a lifetime supply of bad decisions too. ”
Some supported her, with one user writing, “I don’t support killing, but every woman given one chance would eliminate a rapist.”
“Honestly, if the system won’t protect us, what other choice do women have? Rapists don’t fear the law, maybe they’ll fear us!”
“This might sound extreme, but if one woman’s revenge can prevent ten future crimes, then maybe it’s time to rethink justice.”
“I don’t condone violence, but I understand where she’s coming from. Women live in fear every day, while criminals roam free.”
“If rapists had to think twice about their safety instead of women, maybe crime rates would drop.”
“Why are people offended? She’s not talking about killing innocent people; she’s talking about eliminating monsters!”
“This is absolute nonsense. You can’t fight lawlessness with more lawlessness. What’s next? Everyone gets a free crime pass?”
“So tomorrow, a woman falsely accuses a man and decides to ‘use her one murder card’? Ridiculous and dangerous!”
“Violence breeds violence. Instead of such extreme ideas, how about focusing on actual law reforms?”
“What kind of democracy are we promoting where people demand murder instead of justice? This is not how civilized societies function!”
“If this logic is valid, should every person who faced injustice be allowed to kill one politician?”
“One murder per woman? Well, at least the toxic exes will finally be scared for their lives!”
“Government should issue ‘Murder Tokens’ like ration cards. One per woman, use wisely!”
“Oh, brilliant! Let’s replace ‘Happy Women’s Day’ with ‘Happy Women’s Kill Pass’ from now on!”
“Men are already scared of women’s shopping skills. Now they have to fear their ‘one murder’ too?”
“If women are given this pass, some husbands are definitely sleeping with one eye open from now on!”
“Imagine explaining this in court: ‘Your Honor, I was just using my government-approved murder permit!’”
NCP (SP) spokesperson Clyde Crasto defended Rohini Khadse, saying her statement reflects women’s growing frustration over crime and the government’s inaction.
