Prabhas starrer Raja Saab is one of the movies that the fans initially does not want to happen. Later, with the film earning a little craze through internal sources, the fans were okay to witness the film. But, with the film’s release date getting postponed and it undergoing a lot of delays, there is uncertainty. Especially, the film’s production house People Media Factory is going through a rough phase and the fans do not have belief in them that the film would get a smoother release.
After the April 10 release date was dropped, fans of The Raja Saab are still waiting for a new announcement, but the team has remained silent. It doesn’t seem like they are aiming for the crucial summer season either. If director Maruthi is considering July 24, the same date when Baahubali: The Beginning was released, that option is also unavailable. This leaves Dussehra or Diwali as possible targets, but many biggies are already eyeing the date, making it difficult for team Raja Saab if they don’t act immediately.
On the shoot front, three important songs are yet to be filmed, and they cannot be rushed. Since lead actresses Nidhhi Agerwal and Malavika Mohanan are busy with other projects, scheduling their dates is a challenge.
On the post-production front, the current footage is already three and a half hours long, making editing a tough task. While longer runtimes can work for commercial films, they pose a risk for a horror comedy, even with a star like Prabhas.
On the theatrical front, the second half of 2025 is packed with major pan-India releases like Vishwambhara, Swayambhu, Akhanda 2: Tandavam, Sambarala Yetigattu, Kantara Chapter 1, Kantha, and OG. Raja Saab needs a solo release date to avoid competition. Bollywood releases must also be considered, as Prabhas’ films have performed best when released without clashes.
Only a well-planned release will ensure faster budget recovery. Now, it remains to be seen what decision the Raja Saab team will make.
