The Institute of Town Planners, Telangana regional chapter and its Women Planners Forum, joined hands to conduct a seminar on “Gender inclusive planning and policies — challenges and initiatives” on Women’s Day.
Commissioner, CDMA, T.K. Sree Devi, who attended as the chief guest, expressed her views on the contribution of women to the society, and said that women have to be respected for their choices, be it personal or professional.
Assistant Professors, Jnafau, E. Sandhya Reddy and Tuhina Sinha, Deputy Editor, The HinduMarri Ramu, and Chief Scientist, Lifencrypt, K. Ravi Kumar Reddy, addressed the gathering. Chairperson, Women Planners Forum, Deepti Vyas, shared the forum’s objectives and activities. Director, Town and Country Planning, S. Devender Reddy and other office bearers of the institute were present.
An interactive session later, discussed factors affecting safety of women such as street lighting, public toilets, CCTV footage, and last mile connectivity, among others.
