Tata Harrier EV – Full Design & Interior Revealed

The production-ready Tata Harrier EV is revealed ahead of its official market launch in coming weeks. This electric SUV is built on the Acti.ev platform, and is expected to be priced nearly Rs 25 lakh for the base variant. At this initial price point, it will compete against the BYD Atto 3 and Mahindra XEV 9e. Let’s take a look at all key details of the Harrier EV.

Visually, the Harrier EV looks slightly different than its ICE counterpart, thanks to its EV-specific design elements. The electric SUV features a closed-off grille, revised bumper with shaper lines and connected LED DRLs. The headlamp and fog lamp assemblies are similar to the regular Harrier.

Moving to the sides, the SUV has been equipped with the newly-designed aero-optimized 5-spoke alloy wheels and an EV badge on the front doors. The ‘Harrier EV’ badging, sliver skid plate and a beefed-up rear bumper further differentiate it from the ICE-powered Harrier. It also gets a shark fin antenna, a roof mounted rear spoiler and connected LED taillamps.

The interior layout of the electric Harrier is identical to its ICE counterpart However, it has a different cabin theme. The digital driver’s display features EV-specific graphics. Most of its features are carried forward from the ICE-powered Harrier including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, dual zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a powered tailgate and more.

For the safety provision, the Harrier EV will offer Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), a 360 degree camera, hill hold assist, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD and multiple airbags.

Tata Harrier EV – Battery, Range Explained

The powertrain specifications of the electric Harrier are still under the warps. However, this new Tata EV is likely to come with multiple battery options and dual electric motors. It will have the AWD (all-wheel drive) system, and V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2C (vehicle-to-charge) functionalities. The electric range of the SUV is likely to be more than 500km on a single charge. Tata has equipped the Harrier EV with a multi-link rear suspension, while its ICE version features a torsion beam rear suspension.
