Hyderabad: A Class 9 student, Lalithya, of Govt Ashram High School in Ichoda mandal in Adilabad district, died under mysterious circumstances on Monday morning. The family of the 13-year-old girl from Morkandi village in Bazarhathnoor mandal was informed by the school authorities about the death. The grieving family rushed to the school.
Ichoda police told TOI that the body of the girl was sent for a post-mortem examination (PME). “It is only after the post-mortem report comes can the cause of the death be known,” a police officer said.
Meanwhile, the father of the girl, who refused to leave the school demanding to know how his daughter died, was shifted from there by police.
The hostel authorities informed police that Lalithya had dinner on Sunday night and, after studies, went to bed by 11pm. While the other children got up in the morning, a relative of the girl, who was also a student of the school, came looking for her as she was not with the other students. The girl was in her bed. The hostel authorities, who were informed about it, came and found that she died. As there was frothing at her mouth, it is suspected that she could have died after suffering a seizure, but police said only the PME could indicate the actual reason for her death.
