Vijayawada: With an aim to provide employment opportunities, govt is conducting a comprehensive survey across the state to identify people who are ready to work from home. The State is also working on neighbourhood working and co-working models to provide employment opportunities. It has planned to survey 26.8 million people across the state, and so far, 8.2 million people were surveyed.
Out of the surveyed 8.2 million, 1,72,000 are currently working from home, and 20 lakh people expressed interest in working from home if an opportunity is provided. A survey is also being conducted on the buildings available for setting up work-from-home centres and workstation centres in villages. Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Monday held a review meeting with the officials on the progress of the survey.
Among those surveyed so far, 9,05,000 studied less than intermediate, while 1.073 million completed diploma and higher studies. CM Naidu asked the officials to speak with organisations that can provide training and upskill those with qualifications so that they can take up a work-from-home job.
The chief minister also reviewed the WhatsApp services being provided through Mana Mitra. Officials explained that currently 200 types of services are being provided through WhatsApp. Naidu said that WhatsApp governance can reduce corruption and awareness drives should be held to let people know about the services.
Regarding the usage of drones, the CM asked the police department to deploy drones for patrolling during the nights. He said that human patrolling can be minimised with the replacement of drones. He suggested improving the use of drones in sanitation work. He said that the technology should be utilised fully when there are opportunities.
