Yamaha Motor India has rolled out the first-ever hybrid motorcycle, based on the FZ-S Fi. Called the 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid, the bike is offered in a single variant priced at Rs 1,44,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
- The major highlight of this new Yamaha motorcycle is its powertrain. It comes with a 149cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, two-valve, air-cooled engine, which is compliant with E20 fuel and meets OBD-2B emission standards. This motor pushes out a maximum power of 12.4PS at 7,250rpm and 13.3Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. The new Yamaha hybrid bike has a 5-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
- Yamaha has equipped the FZ-S Fi hybrid with its Smart Motor generator (SMG) and Stop & Start System (SSS). These technologies not only reduce engine noise and provide battery assisted acceleration, but also enhance its fuel efficiency by switching off the engine at idle and restarting it with a slight push on the clutch.
- The suspension setup of the new 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid consists of the conventional telescopic fork and monoshock rear unit. The bike derives braking power from a 282mm front and a 220mm rear disc brakes, which are further assisted by a single-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system).
- This new Yamaha hybrid bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, shod with the 100-section front and 140-section rear tubeless tyres. The FZ-S Fi hybrid offers a seat height of 790mm and a ground clearance of 165mm. It has a fuel tank capacity of 13-litres and a kerb weight of 138kg.
- Talking about the features, the new Yamaha hybrid bike offers a 4.2-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster, supporting Bluetooth via the Y-Connect app. The app also provides access to Google maps, turn-by-turn navigation, SMS and call alerts. With this bike, you also get all LED lighting system, traction control and side stand engine cut-off.
- The Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid is offered in two colour options – Cyan Metallic Grey and Racing Blue. Its overall design and styling are exactly similar to the regular FZ-S Fi.
