
Packaging material, machinery, and fake items seized by Mailardevpally police following a raid in Madhuban Colony on Wednesday.
A facility where fake Hindustan Unilever labels were being used to package and sell products was busted in Madhuban Colony in Mailardevpally. Following a raid at the facility on Tuesday, the police seized packaging material, machinery, and fake items, including shampoos, washing powder and tea powder.
The police said the accused, identified as Veerendra Gehlot, is currently absconding. A search operation has been launched to trace him.
The Mailardevpally police booked a case under the Copyright Act and charges of cheating on Tuesday following a complaint by Khaleel Ahmed, manager at Hindustan Unilever Company, alleging that counterfeit products bearing the company’s label were being manufactured and sold without permission.

Gehlot was illegally using Hindustan Unilever’s branding on products including shampoos, washing powders, tea powders and other household items and selling them to unsuspecting customers. The samples collected during the raid were sent to the Telangana Forensics Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis and further action will be taken based on the report.
Further investigation is underway.
