Hyderabad: The Congress govt will present the state budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal on March 19. The business advisory committee (BAC) of the assembly has decided to hold the assembly session till March 27 with 11 working days. The assembly session began on Wednesday with governor Jishnu Dev Varma addressing the assembly and council. The assembly would express thanks for the governor’s address on Thursday.
While March 14 (Holi) is a holiday, the govt would discuss SC sub-categorisation on March 17 and BC reservations and caste survey issues on March 18. After presenting the budget on March 19, the govt would initiate the debate on the budget on March 21. The appropriation bill would be adopted on March 27.
In the BAC meeting, BRS leader and former minister T Harish Rao demanded the govt hold the assembly session for at least 20 days and said it was unfortunate that the business of the assembly was leaked to the media. He said BRS should be given more time to raise and debate various issues in the state.
