Hyderabad: A DCP rank officer will probe alleged police assault of youngsters sitting outside their houses in Kalapather, said city police commissioner CV Anand on Tuesday.
In a post on X, he said: “There will be a need to examine the entire footage to understand what really happened and initiate action accordingly.”
He was replying to a video circulating on social media in which a cop and residents could be seen arguing over the alleged usage of force by the former. The residents, mostly young men, were questioning one of the cops over why they could not loiter in the lanes in front of their houses. However, amidst the confrontation, the situation intensified when the policeman noticed one of the persons recording the incident.
