Hyderabad: Justice K Sarath of the Telangana high court on Wednesday issued interim orders suspending GO 75 (dated Feb 14) of the agriculture and cooperation department. The GO had appointed the additional collector (revenue) of each district as the in-charge of the respective district cooperative marketing society (DCMS) for six months or until further orders.
Justice Sarath also suspended the subsequent orders from the commissioner of cooperation and registrar of societies, which appointed the additional collector (revenue) as the in-charge committee for each district.
The judge directed the state govt to either continue or appoint the previous board of directors or managing committees as the in-charge committee for DCMS in all districts except Khammam.
These orders were issued in response to petitions filed by outgoing committees from eight districts, whose terms expired on Feb 28. The committees sought to continue in their roles as the in-charge of the DCMS.
