RGIA police registered a case against the man Manzoor Ahmed from Tolichowki

Hyderabad: A man has been booked for allegedly divorcing his wife over the phone by saying ‘talaq’ thrice, a practice which was held void by the Supreme Court, in Shamshabad.
The RGIA police here registered a case against the man Manzoor Ahmed from Tolichowki based on a complaint by his 27-year-old wife.
In her complaint, the woman from Shamshabad, alleged that her husband and she had a love marriage in 2009 and spent the initial years happily. However, he started moving closely with another woman and she believes they are into an extra-marital affair.
Recently, she confronted her husband on the same matter and the couple had an argument. Following which, the woman left the house and has been staying with her parents.
During this, on Tuesday, Manzoor Ahmed called her on the phone and said ‘talaq’ thrice.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered under relevant sections of cheating and dowry harassment and the Dowry Prohibition Act.
