Hyderabad:HYDRAA is all set to establish its first dedicated police station in Hyderabad.
The police station will focus on cracking down on land grabbing, encroachment of government lands, and traffic-related violations.
“The HYDRAA police station will be inaugurated in the coming weeks,” Commissioner Ranganath told NewsMeter.
Earlier, it was scheduled to be launched in the second week of March.
Besides, the 9th Additional Magistrate Court in Nampally has been designated as a special court that will hear HYDRAA cases.
Special police station and funding
HYDRAA is set to establish a dedicated police station in Hyderabad to bolster its operations.
The specialised unit will include officials from the revenue, fire, registration, irrigation, police, and forest departments.
Commissioner Ranganath said, “The separate police station will help us take swift and decisive action against violators, ensuring that illegal activities are curbed effectively.”
Additionally, the Telangana government has allocated Rs 200 crore to HYDRA to support disaster management and asset protection. These funds will be crucial in enhancing the agency’s capabilities and ensuring the successful execution of its projects across the Telangana Core Urban Region (TCUR).
Telangana government earlier sanctioned 169 posts of various categories for the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Authority (HYDRAA).
This follows the Telangana government’s decision to give legal cover to the HYDRAA and strengthen the agency with more manpower to safeguard lakes, reservoirs, and nalas inside the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
As per the order, the 169 employees to be posted in HYDRAA include four commissioners, five DSPs, 16 CIs, 16 SIs, 60 police constables, 12 station fire officers, and 10 assistant engineers.
With additional staff, the HYDRAA is likely to intensify its demolition exercise on the unauthorized structures near the Full Tank Level (FTL) and buffer zones of the water bodies in the ORR limits.
