Karimnagar collector Pamela Satpathy, on Wednesday (March 12, 2025), visited the special school for children of migrant labourers from Odisha and other States located at the Zilla Parishad High School in Gattubuthkur village of Gangadhara mandal in the district.
According to official sources, around 50 children of migrant workers are studying in the special school. Their parents are working in the local brick kilns. The collector interacted with the children in Odia and Hindi and assessed their learning skills. She made an on-the-spot assessment of the basic facilities, including drinking water and mid-day meals being provided to the migrant workers’ children.
The collector said school uniforms, bags, shoes and socks will be provided to the children. She asked the staff concerned to conduct health screening tests for the schoolchildren and also teach them in English. District Educational Officer Janardhan Rao was also present.
