Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Wakf Board Chairman Abdul Azeez, District Collector O. Anand, Nellore Municipal Corporation (NMC) Commissioner Surya Teja, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy and others participated in the stone laying ceremony of Bara Shaheed Dargah entrance arch works in Nellore on Thursday.
Mr. Sridhar Reddy said that he was very happy that the construction of the northern and southern entrance arch works with a budget of ₹85 lakh has started during his government’s tenure. He asked the officials to work hard to complete the construction of the arch by ‘Rottela Panduga’ (bread festival) this year and bring a new splendour to the famous mosque.
“I have been trying for funds for the development of Bara Shaheed Dargah during my previous term as MLA in YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) regime. I continued my struggle for sanctioning of funds for the construction of mosque now as well,” the MLA said, expressing special thanks to the Collector and Commissioner who worked to sanction funds for the construction of entrance arch.
On the occasion, Wakf Board Chairman said, “Mr. Kotamreddy is working relentlessly for the development of his constituency by bringing funds for development works. He will keep Nellore Rural as the top constituency in the state in terms of development. Plans are in place for the all round development of Bara Shaheed Dargah as per the MLA’s instructions.”
Collector Anand informed that the construction of entrance arch works at Bara Shaheed Dargah was started using the available funds at NMC and NUDA. He said that a full report will be prepared and sent to the Tourism Department for the comprehensive development of the mosque as a major tourist destination in South India.
