Hyderabad: Telangana Medical Council has filed cases against 12 Rural Medical Practitioners (RMPs), including eight in Hyderabad, three in Sangareddy, and one in Banswada-Kamareddy, for illegal medical practice. This is part of the ongoing crackdown on fake doctors, with over 412 cases filed so far. Despite strict enforcement, officials said that many unqualified practitioners continue to exploit the poor and unsuspecting patients, risking public health.
Recent inspections in Dundigal, Bachupally, Sangareddy, Vanasthalipuram, and Kamareddy led to cases under the national and state medical council laws. TGMC vice chairman Dr G Srinivas emphasised that strict action would continue, including issuing notices and filing FIRs against repeat offenders. A control room has been set up for complaints, and further enforcement would ensure the strict implementation of the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act in Telangana.
