A delegation each from Maharashtra undertaking MahaPREIT and Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation visited FLO Industrial Park in Sultanpur, near Hyderabad, to get a first hand perspective on the women entrepreneur owned facility.

As India’s first 100% women-owned industrial park, the Park has emerged as a model for women-led growth and a national benchmark. It has attracted an initial investment of ₹250 crore and created more than 1,500 jobs, out of which 55% are for women, FICCI Ladies’ Organisation said in a release on Friday.

Encouraged by the success of the park, FLO aims to replicate the model across various States. Such delegation level visits to explore best practices in women-led industrial parks and assess opportunities for collaboration reaffirm its mission of women’s economic empowerment through industrial expansion, it said.

Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology (MahaPREIT) is a subsidiary of Maharashtra government company MPBCDC and the delegation included its senior officials led by MD Bipin Shrimali and FICCI MSC and FLO Mumbai past and present leaders.

The 30-member delegation from Madhya Pradesh comprised women entrepreneurs, officials and FLO Indore and FICCI leaders and members.

The FLO Industrial Park (FIP) initiative was recently presented to the World Bank under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme.

FLO Hyderabad Chairperson Priya Gazdar and FIP entrepreneurs briefed the delegation members. The FLO and delegation members also met Special Chief Secretary-IT and Industries Jayesh Ranjan for a discussion on the State’s policies that enable women-led industrial growth.
