Google has released the Android 16 Beta 3 update and said the new platform has reached stability. According to Google’s timeline, the stable version of Android 16 could be released soon.

Samsung has already started testing Android 16-based One UI 8.0 internally, and the update could come sooner this year.

Android 16 has reached the Platform Stability milestone with the Beta 3 update. Google could release one more Android 16 beta update in April to fix underlying bugs. The stable update could be released in June, and Pixel devices will likely get that update by the end of June.

Android 16 Beta 3 brings improved Bluetooth Auracast support with standardized QR codes for joining audio broadcasts and support for hearing aid equipment. It also brings outline text for users with vision impairments.

It also brings Local Network Protection, which can give users more control over which apps can access devices on the local network. It is planned for a major Android release in the future.

Since Android 16 has reached platform stability, Samsung could start testing it internally for One UI 8.0. Since One UI 7.0 has been severely delayed, Samsung is expected to skip One UI 7.1 and One UI 7.1.1 updates entirely to jump straight to One UI 8.0.

Reports claim that One UI 8.0 will be released relatively earlier to compensate for the One UI 7.0 delay.
