Nizamabad: Death of an arrested person in the custody of cyber crime police led to escalation of tension in the town and heavy contingents of police have been stationed near the Government hospital anticipating trouble on Friday morning.
Reports said the deceased person, Sampath Kumar who was working in Srirama International Manpower was arrested along with another person in connection with a complaint from two persons who went to Gulf countries through the manpower agency.
Sampath and another person were arrested recently and remanded in judicial custody. The Cyber Crime police were reported to have taken Sampath in custody with court order. The cyber crime police took him to Jagitial allegedly for recovery of money in the case on Thursday afternoon.
On Thursday night he was brought back to the cyber crime police station where, Sampath was reported to have complained of pain on his left hand, following which he was rushed to the Government Hospital. He died while being treated and the information was passed on to the rleatives of Sampath.
His family members alleged that Sampath was tortured and he died only due to torture. Situation is under control.
