Power, water connections to ganja peddlers’ houses to be cut: CM

Hyderabad: Electricity and water connections to the houses of ganja and drug peddlers and sellers will be disconnected in the war against drugs, chief minister A Revanth Reddy announced in the assembly on Saturday.
When AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owasi suggested that police posts should be set up near all the slums so that peddlers do not make their way into those places, the chief minister said the govt was resolute in fighting the drugs menace.
Revanth said the managements of educational institutions would be held responsible and booked if any student consumed drugs. “Just like you have a teacher for all subjects, educational institutions should also have a psychology teacher who will observe any changes in the behaviour of students and understand if it is related to the consumption of drugs,” the chief minister said.
He said the police were organising meetings with educational institutions in the campaign against drugs. He said the police infrastructure in the war against drugs would be improved with more vehicles provided to the personnel for patrolling.
