Hyderabad: Stating that the proposed airport at Warangal will become a reality, chief minister A Revanth Reddy has said the state govt was equally committed to getting airports at four more places in the state.
“The idea of an airport at Kothagudem has not been given up. There are procedures involved with the Centre. We have asked the Centre for airports at Kothagudem, Jakkranpally in Nizamabad, Ramagundam, and Adilabad. The Centre is examining the proposals. It is in the interest of the state to get all these airports sanctioned,” Revanth Reddy told CPI MLA from Kothagudem, K Sambasiva Rao, on Saturday.
Sambasiva Rao said he read reports about a ‘conspiracy’ to get an airport for Ramagundam instead of Kothagudem and sought to understand if this was true.
The chief minister said during his recent visit to South Korea, investors specifically asked if there was proper air connectivity in Telangana apart from other infrastructure. “It is in the interest of the state that we have more airports like Andhra Pradesh has quite a few,” he said.
