Hyderabad: Is there going to be a concert by Eminem in India?

Hyderabad: Is Eminem concert happening in India?

If online chatter is to be believed there is to be one and tickets are also being sold online through some websites, but Eminem’s official representative agency The Cara Lewis Group (CLG) has assorted that there is no such event planned in India.

Despite this assertion, there are scammers cashing in on the hype by offering tickets through a website, which apparently is a fake website which is claimed to be linked to Live Nation, a renowned American ticketing organisation. However, this organisation has no presence in India.

The scam website offering tickets shows seating arrangements, but it does not list out the venue. The site, however, indicates 100 per cent ticket availability at prices ranging from Rs 2,000 to Rs 7,000.

Incidentally, the availability of tickets through the fake website is well publicised in various channels, which apparently, did not check its authenticity. Only one media house the CNBC has reported that Eminem’s agency had refuted the reports of tours in India. CLG had mentioned that “There are no official tour dates in India, or any other country in the region, right now.”

If you are to ensure that you do not fall prey to cyber scammers, here are some tips.

How to Be Safe:

  • Verify from official sources before buying tickets.
  • Don’t go to unauthorized ticketing sites—Live Nation doesn’t do business in India.
  • Report cheating sites to officials.
  • Don’t believe viral reports—most news items are sponsored advertorials.
  • Fans should be cautious and alert others not to fall into this trap.
