The excitement is at its peak for enthusiasts eagerly waiting for the Tata Harrier EV, as the electric SUV is all set to hit roads in coming weeks. However, its official launch date is yet to be announced. The model was first showcased in its concept form at the 2023 Auto Expo, followed by unveiling of its production-ready version at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show in January. Let’s dive deep into all key details of the Harrier EV that we know so far.
Tata Harrier EV Interior
Recently, the carmaker released a teaser of the electric Harrier, revealing key features. The SUV has a floating touchscreen infotainment system as we have seen in its ICE counterpart, possibly of the similar size – 12.3-inch. The digital instrument cluster, a four-spoke steering wheel, a touch-based HVAC panel and dual tone dashboard are also borrowed from the regular Harrier. The centre console features the same stubby drive selector and a rotary dial. It will also come with a panoramic sunroof and an electronic parking brake.

What will be different then? The Harrier electric could have EV-specific graphics in infotainment and instrument cluster. Features such as the new terrain modes, over-the-air (OTA) updates, connected car tech, cloud-connected telematics, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities will further enhance its value proposition. In terms of safety, this new Tata electric SUV will offer 7 airbags, a 360 degree camera, Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), tyre pressure monitoring system, hill hold assist and more.

Tata Harrier EV Exterior
You won’t be surprised when you see the production-ready Harrier electric, as it closely resembles its ICE version. However, a few cosmetic tweaks defiantly highlight its electric nature including a closed-off grille, and revised front and rear bumpers with EV-specific details. Unlike the ICE-powered Harrier, its electric version features the newly-designed aero-optimized alloy wheels in dual-tone finish. The ‘.EV’ badging on the front doors and tailgate further distinguishes it from its ICE counterpart.
Tata Harrier EV Battery, Range
The electric Harrier has been designed on Tata’s gen 2 Acti.ev architecture, which is essentially the heavily modified version of the Omega platform. With the new underpinning, the EV will receive AWD (all-wheel drive) system, with one electric motor on each axle. The AWD drivetrain system delivers power to all four wheels by adjusting the torque distribution as per the road conditions. This setup is ideal for light off-roading, daily commuting with added traction and driving in rain, snow and slippery conditions.
Furthermore, the electric Harrier will come with the multi-link rear suspension unlike instead of the torsion beam setup. Exact powertrain details are yet to be revealed by Tata. However, the carmaker has confirmed that the electric SUV will offer a peak torque of 500Nm. As per media reports, the Tata Harrier electric could be offered with multiple battery options and offer a claimed range of over 500km.
Tata Harrier EV Price
The prices of the Tata Harrier electric are likely to start around Rs 25 lakh for the base variant and the top variant is likely to cost nearly 30 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, it will take on the Mahindra XEV 9e and BYD Atto 3.
