AIMIM walks out of assembly charging Treasury Benches with failing to effectively conduct business

Members of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen staged a walk out from the Legislative Assembly on Monday alleging that the Treasury Benches failed to effectively conduct the business in the House.

MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi vented his dissatisfaction over Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar for abruptly closing the Question Hour this morning. He alleged that neither the members were getting the assembly agenda for the next day on time nor was the Chair giving them an opportunity to air their views.

“We get the agenda at 3 a.m. in the morning. How do we prepare ourselves for the session?” he asked. Coupled with this were the changes that were being made to the queries submitted by the members without their knowledge. “This is nothing but killing the democracy. Why are new practices being introduced in the House?” he questioned.

Mr. Owaisi urged the Chair to ensure proper conduct of the business in the House asserting that “this is assembly not Gandhi Bhavan” and trouped out of the House along with MIM members.
